'in the background of things'

In this project I focus my camera on the architecture of Split, Croatia. The buildings of soviet-occupied Eastern Europe in the 1970s seek to impress with design, sheer volume and anachronistic brutality. 

By adding paint I finalize the work by juxtaposing a sense of social separation, longing and loneliness.
